Adopt Varro a Black Dachshund / Miniature Pinscher dog in Northbrook
Varro is only a year old but in is short life he has learned some bad behaviors. He would do best in a home with 1 full grown, because he picks a person and he responds very well to and bonds to that 1 person, and does not like when other people try to pet him. With "his" person he can be a good dog, and can be handled all over, a leash, harness, sweater put on, etc. We know all of this because Varro was adopted by a very nice couple. He bonded with the husband to the point that he became aggressive with the wife. Varro can be extra cute, and he is cute, and he will nuzzle your hand for pets, and then he can turn. He does not do this to the person he is most bonded to. That is why we think a home with a single owner is where he would thrive. Varro does not seem to like big dogs, but he gets along with smaller dogs. He did live with another dog and they got along, but as Varro got more comfortable in the home he would steal toys and not let the other dog come near them, so he became a bit of a bully! If you think you can handle an sweet but semi-naughty little man like Varro, then please come and meet him! He needs to be with someone that will be consistent with boundaries and work on his training. He is so young, so we feel he can be adopted and worked with!
