She's so friendly and so loving with everyone she meets--she's a big hugger too! She's great with kids, other dogs and ignores cats. She seems to have little to no prey drive and has ignored the chickens on her walks too. She loves to snuggle with the other dogs in her foster home (and the people too!) :) Pippi is housebroken, good on her leash and loves her crate. She likes to go in there on her own for quiet time. She knows some basic commands already, is calm and quiet in the car, and is just a quiet girl overall! She hasn't barked or whined the first few days in her foster home. Pippi is super smart and already figured out the dog door in her foster home too. Her story: Pippi was 21 minutes away from being euthanized, for no reason other than the shelter needing space. We scooped her up immediately, you could literally see the gratitude on her sweet face! She will make someone a phenomenal loyal friend, companion and snuggle buddy! is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (puppies under the age of 6 months may not be sterilized prior to adoption, if this is the case your adoption coordinator will discuss the process with you). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort. If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation.
