Atlas was surrendered in August of 2023 to the shelter when his owner had a lifestyle change. Atlas tested Positive for Heartworm soon after being surrendered to the shelter. Atlas started heartworm treatment soon after. He went through months of restricted activity and did very well throughout his whole treatment. Atlas recently had a follow up test and is now Heartworm Free! He is now ready to find his loving forever home! Atlas is a big boy and currently weighs 94 pounds. He is a patient, gentle guy that enjoys getting all the attention that he can! Atlas is a shelter favorite among staff and volunteers that have worked with him. He did live with another dog in his previous home, but he does chase cats so a home without cats would be best. Atlas enjoys going for walks and loves to have a nice frozen Kong as a treat! He kenneled well here at the shelter while being on restricted activity. Atlas does know sit, stay, paw, and lie down. Atlas may be too much for small children, so an age restriction for children in the home may apply, please discuss this with shelter staff. Atlas is a big lovable guy that is looking forward to finding his loving forever home soon! He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/Lyme tested, and microchipped.
