Bentley is a four-year-old, 150 (yes, 150) pound purebred Great Dane that was surrendered by the owner, whose son left him with her when he could no longer afford to keep him. Unfortunately. she already had another Dane and couldn’t afford him either. We tried to find a Dane rescue to take him. Still, the situation became critical because a chronic flea infestation had caused him to chew his skin until it was raw and bleeding. His tail was so chewed up it was evident that he was suffering and needed immediate care. He spent the day at our vet, during which he had all of his shots updated and bloodwork done, got neutered, had an injection for itching, and we had to amputate his tail. He is healing well and will be good as new in no time. Bentley is your typical gentle giant Dane who loves everyone and everything. The vet staff even commented on what a nice dog he was. He is great in the house and good with dogs, cats, and kids. He loves to swim, fetch and ride in cars and he loves toys.
