Description:
Bordernese Dog for Adoption in Princeton, Minnesota, 55371 USNickname: Muffin Dog Breed: Border Collie / Bernese Mountain Dog / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 450. Meet Muffin, a super sweet pup who loves dogs of all sizes and is friendly with everyone—children, adults, and seniors. Muffin's journey started on the streets, where she was found pregnant and searching for food, water, and shelter. Now, she’s ready to find her forever home and share her loving personality. Muffin is leash trained, crate trained, and has a moderate energy level. Her day starts at 7 AM with a potty break, followed by breakfast. She loves to play and run outside, especially enjoying her time herding and rounding up other dogs. During the heat of the day, Muffin rests in her kennel and has her second meal around 3:30 PM. Evening playtime is her favorite, and she’s ready for bed by 8:30 PM. Muffin is even-tempered, goofy, and playful. She enjoys playing fetch and loves her toys. While she needs a bit of patience with her herding instinct, her goofy and even-tempered nature makes her a delightful companion. She prefers to be out of her kennel and involved with her human family, making her a loyal and engaging pet. Muffin would thrive in a home with other dogs to keep her company and share in her playful antics. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and sweet-natured dog, Muffin is eager to join your family and fill your home with joy and laughter! Muffin is from Texas. One big thing you should know is they are heartworm positive - but please don’t let that scare you away from adopting them! After they undergo treatment for their condition they will be completely healthy again, and heartworm is not a contagious disease. Because they need treatment, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) program. Click here to learn more about this program. They will get heartworm treatment at one of Ruff Start’s partner veterinary clinics in St. Cloud, so their foster will need to be comfortable getting them to and from the appointments. Treatment will consist of three injections: the first will be roughly 30 days after they enter rescue. Then, the second and third injections will happen 30 days after the first. When they are undergoing treatment, they should be on activity ‘restrictions’ which just means they should relax in their crate or cuddle with you. Click here to learn more about heartworm disease, which is transmitted by mosquitoes. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
