This beautiful boy was pulled from a kill shelter in Texas and has been waiting over two years to find his forever family. Charlie has plenty of typical Boxer energy and loves meeting new people. Charlie seems to be housebroken, is excellent in his crate, and walks well on his leash. He does well with other dogs with proper intros, and he is also good with cats. Charlie loves meeting new people, including kids. Due to his size and energy we would recommend no young kids. He’s very affectionate and loves to be pet. He is still working on learning boundaries—he can come in hot for affection and could knock someone over if they were unsteady on their feet! He’s been taking training classes with Rise&ShineK9 to work on his manners! *Charlie is in foster care on Martha’s Vineyard. His adopter will need to travel to the island if not currently residing there.* Charlie is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (puppies under the age of 6 months may not be sterilized prior to adoption, if this is the case your adoption coordinator will discuss the process with you). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort. If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation.
