Description:

Brittany Dog for Adoption in Curwensville, Pennsylvania, 16510 USNickname: PA/(Adoption Pending) Krewe Posted Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Hi there, I’m Krewe. My name is a bit different, I know. My Foster moms picked me up during Mardi Gras week and I really didn’t have a name, so they called me Krewe. It means ‘part of a celebration’, and we were all celebrating when I was able to start my new life away from that breeding facility! I am around 4 years old and currently being fostered in NW Pennsylvania but great foster Moms. I’m neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped and all of my vaccinations are up to date. I am comfy in my crate. I am very good for baths and nail trims. I take some natural supplements to help with my fears and anxiety. Before meeting the nice folks with NBRAN and my foster moms, I had very limited contact with people and didn’t understand family life or living in a home. Foster Moms have encouraged me to be with them by keeping things around me calm and setting up routines. I enjoy being in the living room with the opportunity to interact with my fur sisters and foster moms. I love rolling on the sofa, chewing on nylabones and sometimes stealing a chuck-it ball from my fur sister. I give it back when she gives me the stink eye. I like to sit on foster mom’s lap, and if she doesn’t invite me, I’ll let her know my wishes by putting my chin on her leg or my feet up on the side of her recliner. If she still doesn’t get the message, I may even tap her with my foot (gently of course). It took me months to form a bond with my foster moms. I’m still not comfortable to beg for or approach mom to get a treat. However, if mom comes to me and offers me a treat, I’m more than willing to take it. I especially love white cheddar popcorn, pretzels, freeze dried chicken breast, vanilla wafers and soft doggy treats. I hate veggies of any kind, but like blueberries mixed with my food. Sometimes I worry. Foster moms don’t always know why. I’m not very clear with showing what is worrying me. When I’m worried, I will sit in front of mom, or run to my crate. One thing that really, really worries me is new things, for example New places, new people, new areas in the house, new objects. I also worry with loud or sudden sounds, being a far distance from mom (like if I follow my fur sister to the back of the yard and then realize how far away I am), and fur sisters playing rough, and any change in my routine. I startle very easily and strongly with quick movements, loud or sudden noises, unfamiliar sounds, and unexpected touch. With my foster moms help, I have greatly improved in my reaction to these things, but it is a work in progress. I sometimes worry so much that I have a little bit of loose stools when meeting new people who approach too fast, or when my routines are dramatically changed. I am always very sweet and have never even considered grumping at anyone. If I’m afraid, I will just try to hide or curl in a ball and cover my face. I do not have accidents in the house if my routines are strictly followed. This includes not just times of day, but route to get to the backyard. I like to explore the backyard best if mom goes with me. I hate the kiddie pool – especially when fur sister is splashing! I don’t mind drinking out of it though. I am ok to go on walks. I do not pull on the leash when walking, but will often walk behind mom. Mom needs to be attentive as sometimes I startle and try to run from things that are not obvious to mom. I do good in the car, but am more comfortable riding in a crate than on the seat. I love fabric. Stuffed or unstuffed toys, blankets, fabric covered furniture, rugs and anything else fabric I can find. It is my go-to when I am worried. Problem is, I don’t just like to admire it, I like to shred it, and even eat it! I’ve experienced the taste of peroxide (thank you foster mom) when I swallowed 2 stuffed toys right in front of mom’s eyes! I’m darn quick. My new family will need to understand all of my fears, triggers and needs. I would do best with no children around because their quick movements and excited voices would send me running for a place to hide. I’d do best in a calm quiet household with adults. Another fur sibling would be fine, but not required. I would need a secure physical fenced yard to also keep me safe. So, if you think your home might the right place for me to call home Forever, please consider filling out an application online at:nbran/adopt/adoption-application .Once you application is received the coordinator in the State where you reside will be in touch to follow-up. Need to reach your State Coordinator, find their contact information here nbran/about/state-provincial-coordinators Krewe’s adoption fee is 375.00 which will help NBRAN cover the vetting costs and other expenses associated with bringing Brits like Krewe back to good health and readying them for adoption. Given Krewe’s special needs it’s best he be adopted within the Northeast Region (PA/OH/MD/NY/NJ), as foster Moms have offered to provide continually training support and advise to his adoptive family.
