Brock is a magnificent 4-year old male German Shepherd who was picked up on Veto Road/Briggs Hill Road in the Belpre Ohio area by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden and brought to HSOV on May 15, 2024. Brock has a black/brown/tan medium-haired coat, a long fluffy tail, and a beautiful face with classic German Shepherd features including extra-large erect ears. Brock was cautious around strangers when he entered our shelter but has warmed up to many of our shelter staff and kennel techs over the past few weeks. These photos of Brock were taken on May 25th when HSOV Executive Director Amy Rogers accompanied him for outdoor photos. Brock was initially a bit apprehensive but quickly relaxed and posed like a Westminster 'Best of Show Dog'. Brock loved attention from Amy and obviously trusted her since she was in his 'inner circle of friends'. Brock enjoys spending time in our spacious outdoor play yards and to take long walks with our kennel techs and some of our core volunteers. Brock is up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies vaccine), and he has already been neutered. Brock is a big guy who currently weighs 95 lbs. He walks fairly well on a leash. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Brock was held for 14 days in hopes that he would be reclaimed (since his owner had been identified). Sadly that happy reunion did not take place, so Brock is ready to find a new home with an experienced adopter who is familiar with the German Shepherd breed. Our kennel techs/staff would love to introduce you to Brock if you believe he would potentially be a good partner in your home. We are accepting HSOV Foster/Adoption applications for Brock as of May 30, 2024. Brock went home with a foster family on June 7, 2024 who plans to adopt him if things go well with him in their home and with their other pets. Brock was returned by his foster family on June 9th and is looking for the perfect home since he was NOT good with their cats ... And he seems to be a 'one person dog'.
