Bullboxer Pit Dog for Adoption in Woodbury, Minnesota, 55125 USNickname: Buddy *Foster Needed* Posted Breed: Boxer / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $321.38 (Including MN Sales Tax). *Update 5-20-2022* Hi everyone! It’s been a while since you’ve had an update on me. That’s because I’ve been busy learning all kinds of things! It took some time, but once I got cozy in my foster home, I realized I had to brush up on my people skills. I love people, but I can get overexcited pretty quickly, and when that happens, I can snap or try to bite. Though I know I’m not somewhere scary anymore, I still have a lot of trouble with anxiety and stress—sort of like some of you humans do! I’m working on managing stress and getting my emotions under control now, and a big part of that step is getting some professional help. On Monday, my foster mom and dad took me to this really cool place where they said I could get the help I need. It has grass and a fence and so many fields! Also chickens! (I’m not sure what to make of those…) Though saying goodbye was hard, I know that this is important so I can find my furever family. I’m ready for the adventure ahead! Some other things you might be wondering about me: I do well with dogs when introduced in a calm environment, I’m potty trained (although sometimes when I rains I like to poop in the house… it’s not so cold and wet in there!). I completely conquered my fear of stairs with the help of my foster parents, and now I’m a pro at taking the steps one at a time. When they say it takes baby steps, they really mean it! Otherwise, I like to hang out at home and chill with my people. I like walks, but not too far. I like being brushed, and I looooovve blankets! (Maybe too much since they somehow always get holes in them) I don’t like shadows and if I see a plastic bottle, I’ll protect you from it! So spooky! Sometimes I’m restless at night, and have a hard time settling down. I love to eat and will do a bunny hop for it! I’ve come such a long way in just 3 months, and I know that the right home for me will be calm, with a consistent routine, and lots of patience as I slowly but surely become a part of the family. I need a family who will respect that I’m not much of a touchy-feely guy, but don’t mind having me near them. I like to be close, laying on the floor by your feet, but I’m not really a snuggler. And I really hope my furever family is a fenced in yard I can run around in! *Update 2-15-2022* Hi my name is Buddy, and boy does it feel good to be free! After spending 14 months at a shelter down in Kansas, MNBR picked me up and drove me all the way up to my new foster pawrents and fur sister. Ever since, I’ve been learning to live in a home, which is so weird! At first I was pretty scared. I think I’ve had a rough life, so I’m not used to love and affection. I love to play with other dogs, but it took me a few days to feel safe with my new humans. Everyday I get more and more comfortable and I’m really coming out of my shell! I am house trained and ask to go outside when I have to go potty. I like walks, and don’t pull on leash, though I will jump up and down like a bunny when I see another dog! Because that’s so exciting!! I prefer rugs or carpeted floors, and though I go down the stairs just fine, going up them is still a challenge. I don’t quite understand what these so called “toys” are, but I love blankets! I’ll walk around the apartment and grab any blanket I can get my mouth on. I even try to steal the blanket off my foster mom when she’s sitting on the couch! Though I’m slowly learning to trust again, I’m a very sweet boy who is most excited and playful in the mornings when the sun is shining. You can find me snacking on my morning kibble, kissing my fur sister through the baby gate, and enjoying chest rubs on a warm, soft blanket!
