FOCCAS is a foster home based rescue group in Coos Bay, Oregon. (on the Oregon Coast) None of these animals are located in the animal shelter; they are in our homes, being treated like our own pets. We show them for adoption on Saturdays 10-4 in Pony Village Mall in North Bend, Oregon. We are inside the mall across from JoAnn's Fabrics. We may be able to make other arrangements to see the pet, depending on the situation and foster homes..............***if this is a mixed breed dog many times we have to guess at the possible breed mix**.......Aprox birthdate is: 12/12/2011 weight 15#'s. His adoption fee is $150.00 The adoption fee includes neuter, da2pp vaccine(s), bordetella vaccine(s), rabies vaccine, dewormed, flea treated, 24PetWatch microchip with registration, free 30 day Shelter Care pet insurance, free vet wellness checkup with a choice of 10 veterinarians, Coos County Dog License, doggy goody bag, leash and collar.........additional medical.... dental with 10 extractions on 10/28/2019 slight heart murmurDexter was adopted at 3 months old. A foccas person kept in contact with the family and they had good things to say after his initial housebreaking issues were done. THEN here it is almost 8 years later and he is returned. We have NO IDEA what happened to this little dog in these past 8 years. His previous "owner" told the foccas person he loved the kitty in the household. We are beyond perplexed and sad....................DEXTER Foster home notes............. Dexter is frightened meeting new people and will bark continuously and avoid them. At our first meeting, he barked and would not let me near him. He had done the same thing in the first foster home for 3 days before bonding with his first foster mom. I took him because he was chasing resident cats at that foster home. By the end of the first day with me, Dexter was sitting by me and allowing a few pats. He slept against me in bed that night and has been my pal since then.However, he barked and kept away from my spouse until the third day; after sleeping against him the night before, he put his feet on his lap and allowed a few pets. He barks when we pass neighbors on walks. He loves to go for walks but pulls all the way with plenty of energy; he needs the leash attached to a harness rather than collar. He is house trained and eats well.He sleeps through the night. He doesn't know what to do with a bounced or thrown ball. He has just started playing with me; a mild rough house with a gentle mouth. He is in my lap whenever possible, enjoying ear rubs and pets. ...............prior notes from when we had him in 2011....He was from an unwanted litter of 3. He was shy at first but within 5 minutes he was very outgoing. He acts starved for affection and loved the pets and love. He played in the grass for the first time ever in his foster home with 7 other dogs. He has been exposed to dogs, cats and kids. He is having a blast.
