Dorothy is an adult Australian Shepherd who was rescued from a puppy mill situation. While Dorothy is very sweet and gentle, she is shy and will need help learning the world is not a scary place. Most puppy mill rescues benefit from living with another confident dog that can show them the ropes. Dorothy will need a patient adopter who doesn't mind allowing her plenty of time to adjust into a home environment. *If you visit the shelter and don’t see the particular animal you are looking for, please ask at the front desk. No appointment is necessary to adopt. Our business hours are 11am - 4:30pm, Tuesday through Sunday. Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will not be accepted in advance. If you have dogs and/or kids in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are dewormed, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Dogs 7 months and older are heartworm tested.
