Emily (knows Dixie) is a sweet girl who is:• Good with older children.• Good with other dogs.• Housebroken.• Smart – knows “sit,” “shake,” “five,” and “speak.”Emily came to the shelter in July 2024. She was lethargic and missing much of her fur, so she spent time in a foster home while she recovered. Now that her fur has filled in, we believe she is a labrador retriever. Emily will need some training with her leash walking, as she can be reactive to other dogs and people when on leashed walks. Her foster mother also learned she is not a fan of cats. An adopter with a fenced yard, older children, and no cats would be best for her. Apply to adopt her now!Adoption processThanks to the EnviroFlight Fur-ever Home Adoption Sponsorship Program, the adoption fee is $40 for adult dogs and $60 for puppies under the age of 6 months. The adoption fee includes vaccinations, flea/tick treatment, dewormer, spay/neuter, and microchipping. Please check each dog's profile for sponsored, discounted, and/or $0 adoption fees. If you adopt an unaltered dog, you must agree to have the animal spayed/neutered at the veterinarian of your choice as soon as possible and within 3 months of adoption. We ask that the animal will be kept as a pet and treated humanely after adoption.Shelter locationGuests are welcome to visit and spend time with the animals. We encourage all guests to schedule appointments by calling and speaking with the staff.
