Fat Boy is a cute 2-year old male Beagle/Terrier mix who was surrendered by his owner on April 27, 2024. This little man has a black-and-brown short smooth coat with cream/white highlights on his chest, a long curled tail, and an adorable face with expressive dark brown eyes, a slender muzzle, and large floppy ears. Fat Boy had been in his previous home for just three weeks when he had an unfortunate encounter with another dog which ended up with Fat Boy being placed on a 10-day bite quarantine .. which is the reason he was surrendered to our shelter. Fat Boy spent his quarantine time with us in a small floor crate since our shelter was over-capacity on kennel space. He wasn't a happy camper. We could totally understand how frightening and intimidating it was for him .. And everyone was happy when Fat Boy earned his 'get out of jail free' card. We aren't quite sure how Fat Boy was given his name since he is not a chubby boy. When he was given vaccinations on April 30th, he weighed 32 lbs. Fat Boy has not had any bad experiences with other dogs in our shelter, and he is very friendly with his two-legged friends (our kennel techs and volunteers). These photos of Fat Boy were taken late in the afternoon on June 6, 2024 when HSOV Volunteer Jennie Payton Sherrard accompanied him for more flattering outdoor photos than those we'd taken indoors previously in his confinement cage .. Although we admit that those photos were actually kinda cute! Fat Boy walked fairly well on a leash for Jennie that afternoon, and he seemed quite anxious to make the acquaintance of another shelter dog (a beautiful Coonhound mix named Emily) that he saw being walked in the distance by her favorite volunteer Kathy Wilhelm. Fat Boy has already been neutered, so he could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application since he doesn't have any belongings to pack.If you have any questions or would like to adopt Fat Boy (Neutered) Pics 6/6/24, please reach out to the adoption group directly.
