How this pet arrived: Galileo was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on August 9, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Galileo, your soon-to-be favorite star gazer and professional couch potato! Abandoned and feeling lost, Galileo has been a bit shy and shut down, trying to navigate a world that suddenly feels unfamiliar. But beneath that reserved exterior is a sweet boy, just waiting for the right person to help him discover that love does exist and is indeed universal. Galileo is searching for someone who can help him regain his confidence and guide him with patience and kindness. Galileo has been limping on his left back leg since August 2024, and while he's much improved, vets suspect a CCL tear (similar to an ACL tear in humans). This is a knee injury that can be treated with rest, pain management, or surgery. Galileo also has bilateral hip dysplasia, a common condition where the hip joint doesn't fit together smoothly. This can also be managed with medication, weight control, and exercise modifications, though surgery is sometimes considered.
