Hi there, my name is Gemma. I'm a gorgeous bubbly two year old German Shepherd mix. I can't wait to find the perfect family who will help me become the best dog I can be!HOW DID I COME INTO HHHS? I was brought to the shelter as a stray by our friendly Animal Control Officers. When I came to the shelter I tested positive for heartworms. In order for me to get the treatment and care I needed I was placed into a foster home. Now that I'm done with my treatment I am looking for my forever home! HEIGHT: 20" at the shoulder WEIGHT: 54 lbs.HOW MUCH EXERCISE DO I NEED? Regular exercise will keep me healthy, happy, and better behaved. Let's go to the bark park explore some trails! Walking in new territory will help keep me mentally active as I smell all the interesting smells!DO I KNOW ANY TRICKS? I'm a very intelligent girl and would love to learn new tricks to keep me mentally stimulated. Treats are very appealing to me and I would do anything for them! Training classes would be a great way for me to build up my confidence. AM I A GOOD INSIDE DOG? In my foster home I am potty trained. Don't be afraid to kennel me when you are not at home. I do well in the crate when no one is home to watch me. I loved cuddling on the couch with my foster mom. DO I LIKE CATS? I haven't been around any adult cats, so it would be a good idea to do a cat test if you have any feline friends. With kittens I am very attentive and love to clean up after them. DO I LIKE CHILDREN? I absolutely love kids, but it's always a good idea to bring the whole family in to meet me. DO I LIKE OTHER DOGS? In my foster home I loved playing with the other dogs. It took me a little while to warm up to them, but after awhile we were best buds. Thanks for reading about me. I'm a sweet girl who just needs to find my fur-ever family!
