Meet Henry. Henry is a 3-year-old Weimaraner with a very sweet, laid-back disposition. During the day, he likes to sleep in his favorite chair or on the couch, often cuddling up next to you. He loves playing with other dogs and enjoys being outside in the spring and summer, lounging in the sun on the deck. When he needs or wants to go out, he rings the jingle bells on the back door. Henry is vocal when he wants attention or if you take too long getting his dinner ready. He particularly enjoys going to the dog park to meet and play with other dogs. Henry is in excellent health with a coat that feels like silk. Hes up to date with all his shots, fecal tests, heartworm, tick, and flea treatments. Henry has no medical or behavioral issues, save for the Weimaraner trait of counter surfing. In October 2023, Henry completed a 2-week board and train program where he mastered loose leash walking, down with stay, and recall. Hes also a great running partner. Henry shows no signs of separation anxiety and has been left alone with his Weim stepbrother in the house with full access for up to 4-1/2 hours without any issues. Just dont leave a box of Kleenex where he can get them. Henry is housebroken, knowing several obedience commands including come, sit, stay, wait, down, off, spin, leave it, heel, and he's learning roll over. He sleeps through the night on his bed in the room with his parents and does not get car sick. Henry exhibits no signs of resource guarding and willingly surrenders anything he has. He has a strong prey drive and has killed a large opossum and multiple chipmunks. He has not been tested with cats. Like most Weims, Henry plays rough, so he probably shouldnt be in a home with small children due to the fact he may accidentally knock them over. Henry was originally found as a stray outside of Columbus, OH. The only oddity observed with Henry is that he refuses to go downstairs to the basement, even when lured with high-value treats, though he has no issue with outside stairs. Having lived in a ranch home, we dont know if he will go up or down stairs in a two-story home. Henry is an amazing dog and will be a joy for his adopted family.
