Hippo_A199786Hippo is an approximate 2-year-old, neutered male, gray and white Staffordshire Terrier mix that weighs 75 pounds. He arrived at the shelter as a stray on 10/21/19.Hippo is a happy-go-lucky boy that wiggles with excitement when he sees people. He`s very friendly and loves attention! He`s a big boy that thinks he is a lap dog - he doesn`t realize he`s a big boy! He could be affectionately be described as a bull in a china shop at times too! Hippo has a high energy level and LOVES to play with toys and is always up for a game of tug whenever you are! We recommend older, respectful, dog-savvy children that won`t romp, jump or try to ride him - he also isn`t a fan of his mouth being touched. He is neutral toward the cats and dogs here at the shelter; if you have another dog and are interested in adopting Hippo, bring them to the shelter with you and our staff will help you with a meet and greet. He walks well on the leash after a few moments, knows the sit command and will take food gently from the hand.
