Kirby, Labrador Retriever For Adoption In East Hartford, Connecticut
East Hartford, CT
Meet Kirby! He is a friendly, 8 year old Labrador Retriever mix (likely with some German Shepherd and Pitbull in his mix) and is an incredible sweetheart of a mutt! Kirby came to us quite overweight, however, he is now on a good diet and exercise plan and is already shedding the extra pounds from his 90lb, big boy frame. He is well on his way to his goal weight of 60lbs! Kirby, despite all of his excess weight, has quite the spring in his step. He enjoys his daily walks and has been learning leash manners in his time with us. We have been gradually increasing his walking distance to help build his endurance and he has been doing great! Kirby loves people and getting pets, praise, and attention - his favorite things in the world are butt scritches and scratches, and his favorite treats are green beans! Kirby will do best in an adult-only home and would not mind sharing his home with cats. He appears to be housebroken and solidly knows many basic commands as well. While Kirby seems indifferent to other dogs, we feel that he would like to be the only dog in the home so he can be the king of the castle!
