*MAX WILL NEED REGULAR PROFESSIONAL GROOMING ONCE HIS HAIR GROWS BACK IN* Meet our super playful little guy named Max! Max is about 3 years old, and he was surrendered to us after his owner could no longer have him where they lived. Unfortunately, we believe Max wasn't treated the nicest in his previous home, so he can be a little guarded sometimes. Once Max is in the office with us playing with toys, his fun personality really comes out! Max will run around chasing squeaky toys and tennis balls until you tire him out. He also loves treats and will trade his toy for a treat. Max is very vocal when he plays with toys. We think his previous owners played rough with him and encouraged this. Max is going to need a patient home that will give him some time to decompress. His only real quirk here is not being a big fan of the leash. He will need some work with being comfortable having the leash taken of of him. He is an active young guy who does want to be affectionate once he knows you. Max has been shaved down, but as you can see from the BEFORE photo, his hair does grow to be long and silky. He needs to go to a home that understands he will need regular professional grooming. Max loves other dogs and would likely do very well in a home with another playful dog. He tested fine with cats as well. At this time, we are looking for an adult only home, or a home with children no younger than 15 years old for Max. He has been waiting patiently for the right home to come along! There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments.
