Adoption processThe first step in adopting a pet is to complete the Adoption Application found on our website www.stmartinhumane.com. We do not operate a shelter. All animals are cared for in private homes by loving foster parents. Adoptable animals have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and are heartworm free (dogs) and FIV/FeLK negative (cats). Care includes flea and heartworm prevention. The SMHS Adoption Contract requires a safe and secure enclosure appropriate for the size of the dog. Adoption Fee is $125.00 for puppies and dogs, $100 for kittens and $25 for adult cats for a limited time only.Shelter locationWe participate in many adoption events throughout the year. Many of our animals can be met at our adoption events held on most Saturdays and/or Sundays at PetSmart located on Johnston Street.
