My name is Niko and I am a hunka, hunka, burning love looking for that special someone/family to call my own!I'm roundabout 11 yrs old and as you can see from my pics, I'm a pretty handsome fella and a bit of a ladies man. I really love to snuggle up with you and give out some kisses.I also love a good run around the yard and to play with my ropes, old footballs, and really any kind of fun with tough toys!Now I do like to be the king of my castle, so that I can be the center of your attention and not have to share my toys or love with other animals. I might be able to tolerate a laid back kind of girl, but I'd need some introductions first to be sure.I really like to please my people so learning new tricks and commands is always a fun time for me. I've learned several over the years including sit, stay, paw, and down but I might need a bit of a refresher. I'm a pretty strong guy so a nice harness is a good idea for walks (WHICH I LOVE!).Niko is up to date on shots, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $200. One of our volunteers will make contact with the applicant within 48 hours, if at all possible, to confirm receipt and/or discuss any items on the application that need clarification. Four references will be needed: vet and three personal. If we are not able to reach all, we contact the applicant to request alternate references. If all references are good, we conduct a home visit and meet-and-greet. Local applicants are allowed to opt for a trial or finalize adoption immediately. When the adoption is finalized, an adoption contract is signed, the fee is paid. All medical paperwork, microchip ID, etc., for the adopted dog is transferred to the adopter within a reasonable time of receipt of contract and fee. Fees are $200 per dog. The process for long-distance adoption is slightly different and may take more time. The feasibility of long-distance adoptions are contingent on the availability of transportation or the adopter's willingness to travel to pick up the pet. In some long-distance cases, there may be transportation costs to be paid by the adopter.Shelter locationWe do not have a shelter or facility. All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We hold adoption events often, in various area businesses. Private meet-and-greets for applicants may be scheduled, depending on the foster parent's availability.
