Opal, Labrador Retriever For Adoption In Indianapolis, Indiana
It’s a pleasure to meet you, I’m Opal! I am a 2-year old black labmix that weighs 50 pounds. I am very happy that LOLIN brought me intotheir rescue and I know that the perfect family is out there for me. Icame into LOLIN expecting a litter of puppies. Now that my 9 sweetbabies have gone to their new homes, I am looking for that right homefor me.Are you looking for a running or walking buddy? Well, I would be perfectfor the job! If you are a runner, I prefer to go for shorter distancesthough.I am also a sucker for belly rubs and will never them down. Oh…and Ireally like going for car rides so you will have a permanent road tripbuddy if you adopt me. Another way to my heart is chicken! I love mesome chicken.I will need a home without any children or other animals, includingdogs. I will need an experienced dog owner and a low-traffic home. Ihave some aggression from my past life and I know through the help of adog trainer that you and me both can overcome this. It seems I like tointernalize my stress and then react. I am very trainable and havingchicken at the ready will help. I would also really like a fenced-inyard to hang out and romp around though it’s not necessary.I’m already potty-trained and housebroken. Please do not let my pastscare you, I am a very sweet girl and know that the perfect family isout there waiting for me.Adoption processOur adoption fees generally range from $100-$250. We require completion of an application after which we proceed with a verbal interview, make personal and veterinary reference checks, then conduct a home visit to verify that the home is pet-friendly and safe. Upon approval of an application, we require the signing of an adoption agreement contract which specifies that appropriate care will be taken of the animal in question as well as requiring return of the pet to the organization if the adopters are unable to keep it at some point in the future.Shelter locationThe first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application. You can find that application on our website -- www.waldosmuttleycrew.org -- click on "Applications", then "Adoption Application". This is no way obligates you to adopt, but it helps to determine if a particular rescue would be a good fit for your family.
