Peppy Maltese Young Male
Meet Peppy! Here is some background on Peppy: Peppy was a breeders dog who most likely was separated from his mother and litter way too soon. Most likely before 6 weeks of age because he has no bite inhibition. They learn that between 6-12 weeks with the mama. No reputable breeder would sell puppies under 8 weeks, usually not under 10-12 weeks. Now Peppy struggles because he missed out on those very important learning moments from his litter and mom. Peppy needs a home that will not baby him or allow him to get away with naughty behavior just because he's cute and little. He is a sweet puppers who has a bad habit of being a brat. HE NEEDS A VERY CONFIDENT, NO NONSENCE TAKING CHARGE PERSON. He's great with dogs and cats and we feel older CHILDREN 15 and up, if any, would be best. He is crate and house trained but I'm told by his foster family he will throw a tantrum refusing the crate and if one lets him, he will fuss whenever he does not agree or feels he does not need to listen to anyone. Guess what? He did not behave like such at the Sanctuary with Cindy. So that tells us he knows how to work his people. Tisk tisk little dude. Peppy is learning his way is not the only way. A home with bigger dogs would be prefered. He seems to enjoy and follow their lead. Training is an ongoing process that has to be worked on daily. New issues and opportunities show up daily that have to be addressed or rewarded. Continuing training is a must.
