Age: SeniorBreed: Westie mixWeight: 14lbsGood with: kids (lives with a preschooler and a teen), mellow dogs, not cat tested but interested in the outdoor cats he’s metHouse trained: almost there!Crate trained: yes, am also left in an office while my foster is awayNeeds: cozy dog bed and snacks Petey is a gentle, distinguished gentleman who is quite confused how he’s in his current situation. Petey was found as a stray and spent some time in a shelter due to his itchy skin and what can only be described as an unfortunate growth on his lip. The folks at Albert’s sprang him loose and he is scheduled for a dental and a growth removal next week (funded by Albert’s). Despite his past, Petey is a sweet and calm pup who enjoys being close to his people. He loves to keep tabs on his foster family and enjoys curling up on his many dog beds and taking a snooze. He’s fantastic on a leash (adorable trot and wags his fluffy tail) and would also enjoy a fenced in yard. Petey is great in a car/a great travel buddy. He is SO close to being fully house broken and is fine to wear a belly band when you will gone for long stretches. Petey is friendly with the kiddos in his foster home and while he does not live with a dog he is fine to meet them on walks. He seems more comfortable with mellow pups, he has no time for tomfoolery. Cats are unknown but he’s curious about the one he has encountered. He will go into a crate but may take some time to settle, he is fine to roam freely and not destructive so a crate is not needed. What Petey lacks in size he makes up in adorable personality. Are you the lucky person that gets to call Petey yours?! Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality and their needs. Puppy - Under 6 months Young Adult - 6 months to 2 yearsAdult - 2 years to 8 yearsSenior - 8 years to 12 yearsGolden Oldie - 12+ yearsAdoption processAlbert's Dog Lounge is a foster-based rescue providing compassionate care to special needs, senior, and hospice dogs.Our adoption process begins with a completed application. From there, we will review references and vet records. The next step is a home visit with your family. This visit may be in person or virtual. At that point, if approved, we will set up a meet and greet with available dogs. All dogs have an adoption fee of $275 for a single dog or $500 for (bonded) pair, unless otherwise noted. Note: Pairs must be adopted at the same time to get the reduced adoption fee. -Applications with incomplete information will not be processed.- All current dogs in the home must be spayed or neutered, up to date on rabies vaccination, up to date on DHLPP, up to date on Heartworm testing and preventative.- All cats in the home must be spayed or neutered and up to date on a rabies vaccination or wellness exam.- None of our dogs will be adopted to prospective owners who mislead or fail to provide accurate information on the adoption application and/or the adoption contract. Albert's Dog Lounge reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone.- You must agree that if you are no longer able to keep your rescue dog for whatever reason, the dog will be returned to Albert's Dog Lounge. The adopter must agree to never attempt to sell or rehome the dog at any point.Our goal is to place our seniors into permanent, loving homes for the rest of their golden years.
