Porthos was dropped off at the shelter with his two brothers. He was the leader of the trio, and super playful and sweet. Porthos is an adorable 7 month old mix breed with nothing but love to give. He has a lot of energy and would do best with another dog to play with and an active family. Porthos is housebroken (dog door adept) and crate trained. He is very much a puppy and needs someone that will teach him the tricks to be a polite young gentleman! He is fully vaccinated and neutered...which makes him ready for adoption! Persons/families interested in adopting one of our dogs or cats must first fill out our adoption application. Once we review the application, if approved, we will set up a time for the person to meet the particular pet(s). If the person decides to adopt the dog/cat, we set up a time to do a home visit. Adoptions are approved after passing a home visit. An adoption contract is then signed, requiring veterinary care/food & water/exercise/affection for the dog/cat & a stipulation requiring the return of the dog/cat only to Tails of Hope, if necessary. All of our dogs and cats are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, HW negative/treated & on preventative.Shelter locationAll of our dogs and cats are in foster homes. People can visit our adoptable pets by appointment, or at one of our adoption events. Tails of Hope holds adoption events at the Waxahachie Petsmart on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month from noon til 4 PM.
