Riddick Bowe, American Pit Bull Terrier For Adoption In Columbia, Missouri
Hi! My name is Riddick Bowe, but I go by Riddick. My foster mom says I'm a high energy dog that's not quite out of my puppy phase. She's probably right because I love to play all day long! However, if my foster mom is busy working at home, I'm happy to entertain myself with toys, bones, or roping my four-legged brother into playing with me. If not for my brother, I'd probably need a lot more walks, or maybe a run to make me happy. Overall, as long as I'm by my foster mom, I'm pretty happy to do just about anything. She calls me a velcro dog sometimes, but I just want to be around her all the time! About that other dog I'm living with... When I first moved in with my foster mom, I wasn't so sure about sharing a house, toys, and attention with another dog, even though I love to play with them in other settings. Fortunately, my foster mom and the dog gave me a chance to settle in and now we're all best friends! I follow my brother around everywhere and love to play with him. He is a bit older than me, so sometimes he doesn't want to play but I'm really good about listening to him and knowing when to go find something else to do. I'm looking for a home with women. I love my foster mom and all her gal pals, and I'm ready to put my whole heart into protecting them and keeping them safe. Unfortunately, my foster mom says my sense of danger is a little out of whack. For example, I think my foster mom and her friends should be protected from ALL men, but she says that's not true. She's started introducing me to a few men who give me tons of treats from a short distance, so maybe she's right. Fortunately, I'm incredibly smart and between my foster mom and the Pawsitive Support Team I should get this figured out pretty quickly. I need an adoptive mom that will help me continue overall obedience training and positive socialization so I can learn that most things (especially men) aren't so scary after all. I promise to return the favor with constant snuggling and kisses!Adoption processDuring the Covid-19 crisis, our building remains closed to walk-in visits and the majority of our animals are in foster care.
