Rudy American Bulldog Adult Male
Saint Louis, MO
Rudy is a five year old bull dog/boxer mixture. His previous owners moved to an apartment where they were not allowed to have him so for over a year they hid him in a crate the majority of the time. When he developed signs of severe depression, muscle atrophy, diarrhea, and lost 23 pounds Rudy was surrendered. Rudy loves everybody he meets sometimes to rambunctiously. He thinks he weighs 5 lbs instead of 75lbs! Rudy loves to play with toys, loves his walks, and most of all loves to snuggle and give kisses. He will sit on your lap if you let him. Rudy is currently living with 5 cats. He gets along well with 3 cats; he and my 2 other cats have a running battle but forsupremacy. Rudy also currently lives with a 50 lb male pit mixture and a 12lb female Yorkie. Rudyplays hard and again does not know his strength. While he has had obedience training and cango through the commands handsomely while he is on his leash off leash he is not so nice.Rudy would not do well around young kids as again he does not know his size and couldknock them over. If he were to be paired with a medium to large female dog I believe he woulddo well. Rudy needs the stimulation from either another dog or through human interaction.Rudy is crate trained but because of his experience he is very rarely crated. He uses the doggiedoor and has never had an accident in the house. Rudy is very food protective and eats separately from the 2 dogs and cats. He is a scavenger and also eats paper and whatever else he can find. Of course he wants the best toys for himself! While Rudy has had some disagreements with the other male dog in the house, over toys ortreats, he is all bark and no bite. Rudy is a talker. If he feels you are not giving him theattention he wants or needs to go outside he will bark. He can also make some of the most pitiful noises heard when he is upset. He is certainly a talker. Rudy needs a forever home with a person who can complete Rudys training and can let Rudyknow that he is not ALPHA in his new home. He will fill your heart with love and laughter athis comical expressions. If you are interested in meeting Rudy, complete the Adoption form on our website at www.NeedyPaws.org and we will contact you.
