Sadie, Labrador Retriever For Adoption In Columbia, Missouri
Meet SadieSadie has had a rough go of it in her 7 long years of life. Sadie lived life in an outdoor pen, neighbors fed her for over 5 years when they moved in because she was skin and bones from her owners neglect. Fast forward to today, and Sadie was relinquished to us and she is a very healthy weight, has a shiny black coat, and all the comforts of an inside home. Due to Sadie's isolation, she is not animal friendly and can be reactive on the leash. Sadie graduated from Unchained Melodies Reactive Dog Class and is manageable on a leash, but she is certainly not a dog that can interact with other animals. When Sadie came into rescue we noticed an prominent limp. X-rays show that she has a luxating patella, basically her knew pops out of place. Surgery was not recommended at her age and recovery time. Medical management seems to be making Sadie very comfortable and she enjoys her walks around the neighborhood and on the trail. If you are willing to give a dog reactive dog all the comforts of home and spoil her to the end of her days, Sadie may be your girl!If you would like to meet this Sadie, please fill out an adoption application at www.unchainedmelodies.org/adopt/*Adoption Fee is $175.00*No out of State Adoptions*Home Checks RequiredAll of our adult dogs are current on vaccinations, de-wormed, heartworm tested, spayed/neutered, on monthly preventatives & microchipped prior to adoption.*We do not require fenced yards for all dogs, fenced yards are required based on a dogs needs. *No invisible fences.Thank you for adopting!Adoption processWe do offer a "foster to adopt" program which allows the dog to live in your home on a trial basis to be sure we are matching the right dog with the right family. *Applications and Foster to Adopt programs do NOT guarantee or require commitment to adopt a dog.Shelter locationWe have many meet and greet opportunities throughout the community.
