Sarafina (A134998) is a 7-year-old Labrador Retriever mix who weighed 63.2 pounds on intake!06/24/24 This beautiful and sensitive gal is Sarafina! Sarafina was surrendered to the shelter with her doggy friend Parker because their owner could no longer care for them. During transport to the shelter, Sarafina was said to have fallen out of the vehicle. She was sent to a vet clinic to assess and start treatment on her injuries. Sarafinaâs had her paw bandages removed on 6/25/24 and should only be brought outside for potty breaks until cleared by the vet. She is also currently on pain relief medication and antibiotics to prevent infection. Her injuries are healing, and we expect her to make a full recovery in the next couple of weeks! The shelter vet would like to continue rechecking Sarafina on Monday's until she is fully healed. In her prior home, Sarafina was said to be dog-selective and should be slowly and carefully introduced to other dogs if introductions are made. She has no history with smaller critters and children. Please ensure you are doing proper introductions with all new friends. We encourage her next owner to bring her to a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on her manners. Sarafina was said to be kennel-trained and housebroken (will whine when she needs to go out). She was also said to know the command shake! Sarafina has had a bit of a rough go and is eager to find her new home! If you are interested in meeting Sarafina, please let us know!
