His family feels like they do not have the time for him. When they originally adopted there was someone home a lot more and now everyone is out of the home working. He's been relegated to the back yard when everyone is gone and his current home believes he deserves more time and attention. Bourbon gets along well with other dogs. He lives with small dogs and big dogs. He is playful and outgoing without being over the top. Bourbon will need a home that likes hiking, biking or running with their dog. Or a home that takes him to the dog park or doggy day care. He currently goes to the dog park regularly. He is energetic but not hyper. Like any great puppy he has energy to spend and he's excited to play. If he has a playmate at his new home, all the better! They will have a blast. He has a terrific personality and is fun loving. He's very affectionate and loving. He's not stand offish as the breed often can be with people. He's a lover boy. His temperament has been described as middle of the road. If another dog is dominant he doesn't mind giving up the lead. If another dog is submissive, ok, he'll be in charge. He backs off when needed and doesn't create unnecessary issues with other dogs. He is crate trained and there is always a crate open for him. He chooses to sleep under his current Dad's bed. Often under the bed can be a like a "den" for dogs. He chews. But if he is given appropriate chew toys or bully sticks he won't chew on other things. His current home gives him chew toys each day and he's content. He's never tried to jump over the fence as often Huskies will be fence jumpers. He did try to dig initially and the bottom of the fence was reinforced and he's never tried again. It's not been a chronic issue at all. His family can take food or toys away from him. He is told "leave it" and he drops things. He's never shown any resource guarding tendencies. Bourbon is looking for a home that understands the exercise needs of a large breed dog, the grooming needs of a double coated breed and can demonstrate such on the application. Bourbon is only an option for a home that has kids over the age of eight as he hasn't been around little kids at all.
