Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix DOG FOR ADOPTION RGADN-1018831 - Jackson -
Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix Dog for Adoption in Williston, Florida, 32696 USNickname: Jackson Posted Breed: Terrier / Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). JACKSON needs a home. We all love him but we are not enough! Please consider him after reading his story! Jackson had initially come to us in October of 2020 at approximately 1.5 yrs old. He was basically an energetic, hyperactive, teenager. He was adopted December 2020, but that adoption did not work out, so he was returned to us. He had a few more people interested in him after he returned, but was not adopted again until July 2021. He did well and thrived in this new home. However, his "Mom" began to have health issues and was unable to care for him. She made the painful decision to return him to us after several months, in hopes of us finding a new forever home for him. This was quite hard on Jackson. He had been with us for so long, then had to come back again. He did seem to withdraw a bit after that. He is a very sweet boy and his life has been so sad. We do not understand why no one is interested in giving him a chance now that he is older.. He is a very loving young guy. While he was in his last home, he received some "in home" training through our WAG certified dog trainer. This has helped Jackson to be even a better dog as he has matured. Our trainer will assist if needed in whatever home is lucky enough to adopt this sweet guy. Jackson is 3 years old now and weighs 45 lbs. Some think he is a terrier mix of sorts, perhaps part Black Mouthed cur, or Staffordshire Bull Terrier. He may even have a bit of hound in him. None of this is certain without a DNA test. He is quite affectionate and loves to cuddle. He does not like thunder or fireworks and needs human warmth to feel secure. He walks well on a leash and knows basic commands. Jackson had some reactivity with other dogs prior to his training and had been better since, but it may be best if he is the only dog in a home. He loves to run and play. He tends to like to chase small animals, like squirrels, so he may do the same with cats. His cat "likes or dislikes" would need to be trialed. He would do well with a fenced yard with lots of room to play and explore. Jackson desperately needs to belong to someone who will love him. He does not like the cold and loves to be warm and snuggly in his winter sweaters and warm bed. He would be a great fit for most adults or in a family with older kids. He could be a great running, biking or hiking partner and perhaps do well in dog sports. Jackson would also be a great candidate to be fostered in a loving home. If you have the room in your heart and home, please consider giving this beautiful boy a reprieve from his long kennel life, as a foster. This would be so good for him. If Jackson sounds right for you, please call WAG at 352-528-XXXX and make an appointment to meet him and all of his other friends here. We also now welcome potential adopters, to "foster" a dog, if interested in that dog, but uncertain. This enables the dog and potential adopter to become acquainted and make certain that the fit is a good one. If unable to adopt or foster, please consider sponsoring Jackson. A $25/month sponsorship donation can help pay for food, medications, potential vet costs and other needed supplies for a dog's care.
