Meet Snoop Dogg, affectionately known as "Snoops" or "Snoopitty Boops" by his Texas foster home! This lovable pup was abandoned by his previous family, but now he's ready to be your devoted shadow. Snoop loves being where his people are, always eager to please and soak up all the affection he can get. House trained and kennel trained (though he might need a little encouragement to go in), Snoops is a great fit for families with kids and other pets. He has a playful, puppy-like personality that shines through during playtime but is just as content to lounge on the couch beside you. He’s looking for someone to make him their own and is always up for adventures at parks or breweries. While he’s a bit hesitant in the car, he truly enjoys exploring new places. Throughout the day, Snoop spends a few hours in his kennel but loves his out-of-kernel time while you work from home. He enjoys gentle play with other dogs and responds well to correction and boundaries, making him a quick learner. Oh, and he has a charming habit of bunny hopping when he runs and plays, which is just adorable! He may bark a bit when he’s bored and wanting attention, but it's nothing excessive, and he corrects easily. While he loves to follow you around, he’s also perfectly fine hanging out in his kennel or having some time to himself. Snoop would thrive in a family that enjoys walks and adventures, and he’d fit in well even with those who don’t work from home. If you’re looking for a loving companion who’s ready for fun and snuggles, Snoop Dogg is the pup for you! SnoopDogg is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 11/2 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 5PM and 9PM. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. One big thing you should know is they are heartworm positive - but please don’t let that scare you away from adopting them! After they undergo treatment for their condition they will be completely healthy again, and heartworm is not a contagious disease. Because they need treatment, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) program. Click here to learn more about this program. They will get heartworm treatment at one of Ruff Start’s partner veterinary clinics in St. Cloud, so their foster will need to be comfortable getting them to and from the appointments. Treatment will consist of three injections: the first will be roughly 30 days after they enter rescue. Then, the second and third injections will happen 30 days after the first. When they are undergoing treatment, they should be on activity ‘restrictions’ which just means they should relax in their crate or cuddle with you.
