Do you want a dog that looks like a puppy, but is almost 9 years old? Then Tux is your guy! This adorable 20lb pekingese / shih-tzu mix is a sweetheart. He wants to go everywhere with you. We think he was a purse pup before he ended up in our care. He is house trained and crate trained, but he prefers to sleep and be with people. Tuxey can be a bit of a resource guarder with toys and food. He will growl if he has a toy in his mouth and he thinks you are going to take it away from him. He also doesn't like when his humans leave the house and will bark at you as you leave. He is great with kids, but they need to be dog savvy enough to stay back if he is eating or becoming possessive. Tux gives plenty of fair warning. He does well with other dogs, but would prefer to be the only dog in the house or with another calm dog that gives him his space. He has lived with cats and did fine. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200.
