Sweet Viola is the definition of resilience. She found herself dumped at an LA shelter in abhorrent condition - she had a severe upper respiratory infection, her skin was in terrible shape, and she appears to have been bred over and over :( But her bad luck didn't end there. Viola was "rescued" by a new organization who was ill-equipped to provide her the medical care she desperately needed. So she sat in deplorable conditions for nearly a week while her condition worsened to pneumonia. By the time Stand Up For Pits Foundation and Mad Mutts became involved, Viola was in critical condition. She spent a collective three weeks in the hospital on supplemental oxygen and the strongest antibiotics available. Now 2 months later, she is ready for her forever home! Viola is house trained, has personality for DAYS, knows "sit" and "shake," and LOVES to be loved. We have not done a dog temperament test on her, because we do prefer she is the only dog in the home. After all she has been through - she deserves to be someone's one and only :) We do not expect Viola to have any long term complications from her illness but her new family will need to make sure they limit her exposure potential to respiratory infections.Adoption processWe are very thorough in our adoption process to ensure our dogs go into the very best homes.
