Meet Wanda! Wanda is a sweet girl that appears to have had a rough past, but she is learning very quickly how good life can be. She can be shy at first, but with quiet calm introductions and some favorite treats she learns quickly that ear scratches and pets are wonderful Our guess is that Wanda is about a year old and is a lab-mix. She is about 45 pounds, 2 years old, and has a pretty cream-colored coat with the sweetest butterscotch-colored ears and freckles on her face and a little matching patch over her left eye. The tips of her ears bounce in the cutest way when she is having a nice, relaxed walk or trotting around the back yard. Wanda has been a quiet guest in her foster home, unless it is meal time, and then she lets you know, she’s ready! Wanda would excel in a home with a well-adjusted fur sibling to show her the ropes and to continue to help build her confidence. For dogs/puppies this covers spay/neuter, microchip, dewormers, flea and tick preventative, heartworm test (only over 6 months of age) and all up to date, age appropriate vaccinations. Cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and dewormed. We require an adoption application and a home visit prior to adoption. We schedule meets with approved adopters only, so you must download our PreAdoption Application from our website at www.starfishanimalrescue.com and follow the instructions to email it to us.Shelter locationWe are not a shelter. We are a group of pet lovers and advocates who are committed to targeted rescue. Starfish Animal Rescue is a licensed rescue that is run by an all volunteer staff. Once we rescue a dog or cat, it is placed in one of our foster homes until we are able to find it a suitable home.
