Hello, my name is Zeus and I am a handsome fella looking for my furever home! I was found by my foster dad while I was wandering down the road looking for it -- and gosh, I hot, hungry and thirsty when he found me! I am a good boy who is well-mannered and very intelligent, and I learn quickly, especially when there are treats involved. I am an energetic pup and love to play -- especially with my big foster brother, Apollo, but I will also be your cuddly companion when it's time to relax. My ideal home would be one without cats as I haven't had much interaction with them. My ideal owners would be ones who are patient and don't have any small children, as I can be a bit too enthusiastic little humans. I promise to be your most loyal companion once I get to know you. If you have plenty of love, and maybe some treats, then please consider giving me a furever home! Zeus has had all age appropriate vaccines and has been treated for parasites, he will be neutered and micro-chipped when he is old enough. (If he is adopted before he is old enough to be neutered, SPCHS will provide a voucher to cover the cost of neutering.)Adoption processThe application process.... After you complete an application, there are several things that we will do: 1. We will check your personal references. Please be sure to list two personal references and include a phone number and an email address. (form asks for one; but I like two)2. If you do not own your place of residence, we will call your landlord or leasing office. Please check with them first to learn about their pet policy.3. We will call your veterinarian for a reference. We are looking for a history of annual exams, vaccines maintained routinely, annual heartworm tests and monthly preventatives. We require the following: * All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. * If your pet is not up to date on vaccines, please do not submit the application until you have scheduled an appointment with the vet to get your pets current on their vaccines. 4. If you are a 1st-time pet owner, please include the name and phone number of the veterinarian you plan to use.5. Be sure to call your Vet(s), giving them permission to speak with us.6. We may need to do a home visit prior to approving your application, or post-adoption. If these policies and practices are not acceptable, please do not apply.Shelter locationWe have Adoption Days on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month at 179 Chris Way in Somerset, Kentucky from 12-4 pm EST, in addition to community-based special adoption events.
