Meet Brutus! Do you want a dog but would rather play with them than go on walks? Brutus is a 6 year old Mastiff Pitt mix who may be exactly what you're looking for. Brutus loves fetch and his eyes light up when he gets to play training games with his fosters. Brutus is fine on walks but would rather spend his time with you bonding and learning and doing what he can to please you!Overall Brutus is a medium-low energy dog who likes a bit of exercise in the morning and evening and then is fine laying around with you or following you around. He's more of a Hulu and hang guy than a wilderness adventurer.Brutus is a smart and stubborn boy. He learns best with games and playing with his people. While it was a slow start he has learned over 10 commands in the past few months once his fosters figured out his learning style! (Though sometimes he does pretend he doesn't hear, kids am I right?) He does like boundaries and would do well with a family willing to set rules with him so he knows how to be the best boy for them. Brutus LOVES kids he is very happy when he gets to be around and loved by them! He's dog friendly with a slow introduction but does better with confident, non-aggressive dogs, he mostly ignores cats and will sometimes give them a well natured boop. He just needs to understand they're members of the family. He loves going out in public and has enjoyed getting attention at Petco and adoption events! He's a rescue so what's the catch? Brutus has some separation anxiety, he's not a fan of being left alone and will need to be crated when you leave to help him get used to the space. He also would do best with a yard with a privacy fence or with limited visibility out of as he tends to be yard reactive. He also needs about two weeks to learn the rules of the house. But after that he's very good with the boundaries put in place!So if you're looking for a dog you can play with instead of spending time on walks, loves to learn commands and thinks the sun rises and sets around you, but needs a little TLC Brutus may just be your best boy!
