Nathaniel is a super playful pup who loves to have fun!! You’d never guess, but Nathaniel was sooo shy when he first returned to PACC after a stay in foster. At that time, here’s what his foster said:“I have had Nathaniel with me for two weeks. He is housebroken, likes his crate, and likes to go outside every few hours. We close the crate at night for him to sleep. When he first arrived at PACC, Nathaniel was undersocialized, was suspected of being hit by a car, and then got sick. He was also fearful of walking on leash. Now, he is a little nervous to get leashed up but walks well. He is still learning to come on command, understands to go outside and come back in, and is motivated by any treats!Nathaniel is gradually allowing more physical contact and wagging his tail a little! He chews and plays with toys and it’s so rewarding to guide him along and see him learn to be a pup! I would hope that he can find a fairly active family that can give him the attention, guidance, and training that he needs. He has been a joy to have around, just needs a little patience and TLC.”Fast forward to today and this little firecracker loves time out his kennel and loves affection from his volunteer pals. He has tons of energy and definitely needs an active family who will keep him on his toes! Here’s what some of his volunteer friends have said:“Nathaniel is easy to leash and we headed to a yard together. He was very friendly and immediately approached me when I sat down in a chair. He put his head in my lap and accepted lots of head and ear scratches. He’s so soft!! He did a few minutes of roughhousing with his kennelmate and then spent the rest of the time hanging out, asking for more attention and treats. He sat for treats and took them nicely from my hand like a good boy.”“Nathaniel is *so* sweet! It was my first time meeting him, and I was in a play yard with him and his kennemate. Once I sat down on a bench, Nathaniel immediately came over to me without prompting and put his head in my lap for pets. He had a relaxed body and gazed up at me with soft eyes, melting into the pets. He stayed by my side to ask for me pets when I stopped, and his loving gaze was quite the ego booster. This handsome guy is a total love bug! Nathaniel has an energetic play style with his kennel mate- they love racing around the play yard and wrestling, with periodic rests for Nathaniel to come back and get pets from me.
