Dakota_A199227Dakota is an 11-month-old, intact female, black and white Malamute that weighs 62 pounds. She was surrendered by her former family on 10/04/19 because one of the family members just had surgery and she has too much energy. Dakota lived with her former family for five months and they shared with us that she is an inside dog that is crate trained. She needs some more work not pulling on the leash when going for walks, but does know the sit and down commands. Dakota is a high energy level and will need a person or family that has time to work with her to learn not to jump up on people. She has never lived with children; we recommend older, dog-savvy children because she will definitely knock smaller children down. Dakota previously lived with another dog and they got along well. If you have another dog and are interested in adopting Dakota, bring them to the shelter with you and our staff will help you with a meet and greet. Dakota`s $150 adoption fee includes a $40 voucher to be used toward her spay, which, by law, MUST be done within 30 days of adoption (this will be thoroughly followed up). The fee also includes her up-to-date vaccines, rabies vaccine, microchip, leash, collar and goody bag!
