This exuberant youngster is Marley, a Black Mouth Cur mix. He was brought to the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 2/17. All this time cooped up in a kennel at the shelter has affected him negatively. He weighs 44 pounds, is about a year and a half old and is neutered. The confinement and with getting out maybe once a day has made him excitable resulting in his jumping on you and an over abundance of energy that he cannot release in a shelter environment. What Marley needs is a home situation in which he will receive TLC, playtime and obedience training. He will especially need appropriate decompression time, separation from other pets for a time and sensitivity to his long-time stay at the shelter. However, I feel this boy is worth the save and would make a wonderful companion for someone willing to be patient and stay committed to him. He does walk on a leash but has a fairly strong pull. He enjoys running and playing in the yard and likes toys and balls. He is friendly and is ok with being given loving attention. He enjoys treats. Bottom line, Marley has the potential to be a loving pet for a person or family willing to invest in him so please help him if you can.
