Brook is a friendly little velveteen house hippo who would love to find a family today! She has a reputation around the shelter for always being happy, sweet, and social with every person she meets. But, some dogs just don’t do well in the shelter environment, and Brook’s wonderful personality is often overshadowed by how stressed she is in this loud, noisy place.Brook is young and energetic and will do great with an active family looking for a hiking buddy or a sidekick for any kind of adventure. Here’s what some of her volunteer friends have said about her:“Brook is quite stressed at PACC and I really feel for her. You can see in her eyes that she is having a hard time being cooped up in a kennel, and just doesn’t know how to relax. I took her for a long walk this morning, hoping that she would settle a little as we walked. She was a decent walking buddy, walking in front of me at a good pace. This girl REALLY needs a foster/adopter who can let her decompress in a quiet environment and get the chance to relax and enjoy life. Brook is one who I will definitely walk more often – she needs the outlet in order to keep her sane in this stressful environment!”“Brook and I went for a walk yesterday morning. Brook mainly kept to herself and focused on exploring her surroundings, but she did check in periodically with me and had soft eyes. She took treats gently and was was easy to return to the kennel after our walk.”“In the play yard Brooke was very energetic and curious. She can be a bit excitable but listens to “sit” and takes treats gently. Definitely needs an active family and opportunities to get all her energy out. Very friendly!”Brook and her sister (who has left the shelter) were found as strays and brought to PACC. Their finder told us that they were calm and relaxed during their time together, and that Brook loves Starbucks! Brook has been assertive when first meeting other dogs but listens to corrections and has kept to herself after her initial excitement. She’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Please ask to meet Brook today!!
