His foster describes him as "such a perfect dog!" He is a calm, quiet, gentle dog with big soulful brown eyes. Roscoe is fully house trained and walks well on a leash by himself or with another dog. Roscoe would like to offer his services as your shadow as he likes be with his humans. Roscoe is living in a home with another dog and plays well. While he's not a fan of sharing his toys, he isn't interested in starting fights. He'll just pick up his toy and walk to another room with it. One thing Roscoe does like to share is beds. He has his own bed but likes to sneak into bed with you after you fall asleep. He likes to use your body as a pillow for his big head. Poor Roscoe was surrendered to a rural shelter in far SW Virginia because his owners said they didn't have time for him. The rural county's animal shelter only has capacity for 22 dogs, so Homeward Trails is trying to take as many dogs as possible so they are not euthanized. Luckily, a wonderful foster family stepped up so we were able to spring Roscoe from the shelter. Sweet Roscoe gets attached to his people quickly and is very loyal! Like any young dog, he needs a predictable schedule and regular exercise to be the best dog he can be. Roscoe will need a person or family committed to making sure he gets the exercise, training and attention that a young dog needs. Could YOU be his forever person or family?? He certainly hopes so!! The adoption fee for this dog is $475. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter and microchip. Ask me about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, training and other discounts!
