Meet Jocko, the wild-eyed weirdo ready to steal your heart! With his gray and white fur, the little bit of pink on his snout, and the way his ears go back when he sits and looks up earnestly, he looks like the largest and cutest mouse you actually want in your house! Jocko is a canine distemper virus (CDV) survivor. This very special boy was quarantined at the shelter and was there for more than six months before coming to his long-term foster home. He spent much of that time in isolation, where many volunteers absolutely fell in love with him! Jocko has been through a lot and is very resilient. Jocko loves meeting people, but kids are too much for him. Jocko can quickly escalate and become mouthy. Jocko's zest for life and excitement are like a light switch. He needs people who are tall enough to reach up and turn off that switch when the Jocko tornado (A.K.A. Jock-nado) blows through! Jocko is incredibly smart, knows several commands, and loves to learn. Jocko is a couch potato 90% of the time, but he also has an adventurous spirit and would thrive with someone who can keep him engaged and keep his faculties sharp, with daily walks through the neighborhood, romps in the yard, and maybe the occasional car ride. Jocko is affectionate and likes to give kisses. He is a rough and rowdy player with other dogs, so he would love to have a furry friend who has the patience to keep him in check. He is non-destructive in the home and is fine to be left alone during the work day, but he is an escape artist when it comes to the crate. Jocko likes to be involved in everything you do, so leave the crate door open to let him nap at his leisure, but only shut him in if you're home and don't need a helper for your latest project! Jocko is house trained, quiet, and never barks. He is content to self-entertain when you're not giving him neck scratches, and is just generally really fun to have around. If you have a tall-people only household with a furry resident or two (no cats due to his prey drive) Jocko would be a great addition to your family!
