Hi, I’m Darla and I would love to be your heart dog. My foster mom says I’m the most loving and sweet dog ever. I’m the best cuddler and my favorite thing is to give and receive love. My personality can be described as chill and relaxed ( unless I see a rabbit, lol). I enjoy going on nice leisurely walks and am doing great with loose-leash walking. I love all people and get along well with other dogs. I am fully housetrained. I will happily sleep in your bed or next to your bed, whichever you prefer. I would do best in a quieter home. I also love treats and toys and I love chasing a tennis ball. I am very food motivated and very smart and learn new things quickly. I came from Alabama and was living in horrid conditions with my 5 puppies. I am so thankful we were rescued. If you’re looking for a dog that will be your perfect walking companion, the most amazing cuddle buddy, and the best most devoted friend you’ll ever find, then I’m your girl! I can’t wait to meet you!With love,Darla Darla is Heartworm positive and is waiting for a negative test result which can take 2-9 months after treatment. Her treatment has been completed and she will need a Heartworm test every 2 months to follow up on her treatment progress until she has a negative result. During these months, you will need to make sure her heart rate is not elevated due to high-energy play or exercise. Darla will also need continued use of monthly Heartworm prevention going forward. These medical needs will be the responsibility of the adopter. --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spay/neuter before adoption unless age is a factor with a puppy younger than 6-12 months at the time of adoption. If that is the case, the spay/neuter will be covered in the adoption fee and the owner will be responsible to have the procedures completed at a Warrior Dog Rescue Veterinarian at the appropriate time.Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions.
