Meet Lucy and Trooper. Lucy and Trooper are a bonded pair that recently came to Suncoast Basset Rescue because their family was no longer able to care for them. Lucy is 9 years old and Trooper is 14 years old. Both of them are heartworm positive and have been going through the slow kill treatment. Lucy is a sweet, wonderful girl who is young at heart. She gets along with all dogs and loves people. She is always happy and loves hounding in the yard with the other dogs. She also loves giving kisses and receiving belly rubs and treats. She does have some stiffness in her hips so her foster mom is working on getting her to lose some extra pounds. Trooper is such a good boy who has a lot of love to give. You would not be able to tell that he is 14 years old because of how well he gets around. He has this little bounce when he gets excited to see his foster mom, which always puts a smile on her face. He loves to go on walks and ride in the car He also loves to get belly rubs. He can be shy around other dogs and he is protective of longtime companion, Lucy. Lucy and Trooper are not yet cleared for adoption but check back for updates on their progress.
