Kringla is a sweet worried mess who came to the shelter as a stray. She was bald and smelly from a long untreated skin infection and a nasty ear infection. She's been treated for both, had a bath, and is ready to find a family of her own. It will be a while before she's 100% and the vet recommends that she stay on heart worm prevention year round to keep her healthy (they suspect she had mange and the heart worm meds will keep the mites in check!). She was in a lot of pain when she first came to us but she is starting to realize that it doesn't hurt to be petted any more but she will need a patient family who understands that she needs time to heal. She had no interest in other dogs (probably for the same reason-when your skin hurts you don't want to be bounced on) so would probably be happiest as an only dog or with a gentle friend who will be happy to hang around together.
