Dec update Leeland got to practice some of his basic obedience training in public and he did really good. Still working on his leash skills but he was very attentive and obedient. Great around all the dogs and playful.Entering our shelter as a stray pup on 8/29/23, Leeland's story began with uncertainty and hardship, but his resilient spirit and loving nature have defined him as a beacon of hope and love in the world of shelter animals. This medium-sized chocolate Lab mix, weighing around 40 lbs, has a heart as warm and sweet as his coat. His endearing personality has won the hearts of many, and his journey is one worth celebrating.Born into circumstances beyond his control, Leeland's early days were shrouded in mystery. Found wandering the streets, his eyes held the wisdom of a soul much older than his years. Yet, despite the unknowns of his past, Leeland's spirit remained bright, and it was this very spirit that caught the attention of the shelter staff who took him in.From the moment he entered the shelter, Leeland's playful and affectionate nature became the cornerstone of his identity. With a tail that wags like a metronome, he embraced every interaction with an unbridled enthusiasm that was infectious to all who crossed his path. He maintains his gentle and affectionate demeanor, but has also discovered his love for running and playing fetch in the yard.
