Saylor is a small Xolo full of spunk and energy. He is a unique two year old boy with beautiful skin that weighs a mere 8 pounds. His facial features are sharp, giving him a special one-of-a-kind handsome presence. He has a easy-going nature and keeps to himself much of the time. He tends to be cautious of people, timid or shy, but that is him learning to find his own comfort with them. In the house he follows you around when you're doing things and adores being near. He is very smart and is learning to respond to his name. Once picked up, Saylor enjoys being very close to his human either on a bed or blanket-wrapped in a lap. Saylor is food/treat motivated and is always excited with quirky dances and body twist at mealtimes. He doesn't seem to be interested in toys but enjoys a braided bully stick to gnaw. When outside or on a rug, Saylor likes to duck his head and roll over several times. He is very agile, a good jumper and he maneuvers stairs easily. He likes little adventures in yard independently running everywhere he goes. If given a sufficient amount of time, he usually takes care of his "business" too. He usually stands by the backdoor for a short time signaling his need to go out. He will need to be kept on a schedule to reduce potty accidents. Saylor is crated each night to sleep in a (small suitably sized). This gives him a more defined "den space" and security with less anxiety. His nightly routine includes a night light and low volume dog relaxation music. Every morning Saylor is well rested and ready to come out to start his day. He shows up with his appetite ready for breakfast. Since he is small you will need to closely guard doors when coming and going. Saylor does have moderate separation anxiety when you leave home. He becomes barky and lightly howls along with some nervous pacing. After a while he settles down while waiting for you to return. Saylor is a real dash of sweetness in foster care. Each day he gains more confidence and familiarity with the daily routines. He must have a secure fenced yard with close pickets for his well-being and safety. He does like the company of other small dogs that are well balanced. Large dogs are not a good fit for his temperament. Because he comes from a background where he didn't get a good start in life, Saylor will need a Forever Home with patience, dedication and love for him to thrive. He is being fostered in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
