Neptune is a magnificent 2-year old male American Staffordshire Terrier who arrived at the HSOV on December 14, 2023 after a Good Samaritan found him on State Route 7 in the Marietta/Reno Ohio area and brought him to the safety of our shelter. Neptune was not wearing a collar, but a microchip was detected. Our shelter staff has been attempting to locate his owner through the microchip data. This handsome guy has a sleek chocolate brown-and-white coat, white markings on his legs/paws, a long tail with a white tip on the end, and a beautiful symmetrically-marked face with dark brown eyes, a chocolate nose on his pink/white muzzle, and cute 'cartoon ears'. You cannot look at Neptune's mischievous-looking face without smiling. Neptune has a playful, fun-loving personality. Thanks to HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver who accompanied Neptune for outdoor photos on December 16th. Neptune thoroughly enjoyed his '15-minutes of fame' and (like all of the HSOV dogs), he loved Emily. Neptune weighs 62 lbs and is strong on the other end of a leash. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Neptune was held for three days so that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership.
