This little guy is confident and sweet. He WANTS to be cuddled. But when it is time to play, he is all about play time. He is the sidekick to his little sister Frankie. Jimmy is her right hand dog and partner in crime. He is so happy and excited when you are holding him. He gets a little wiggly and squirmy in your arms because he is just so excited. And he would love to give you as many sweet kisses as you will let him. Jimmy came from a home where there human Dad was frail and in poor health. He loved all the pups but didn't have enough time for each pup and didn't have enough resources to meet all of their vetting needs. Jimmy and his littermates are still learning about manners. There are a lot NO being told to them. No nips, no arguing, no wrestling, No, No, No....lol. The pups are also learning about potty training. All of them have come a long way from being loose and going wherever they wanted to now very successfully going straight to a potty pad! They are catching on quickly!! And NOW Jimmy has graduated to exiting the back door and go straight to his spot to potty in the backyard. But Jimmy's new family needs to understand that this is an ongoing process and accidents WILL HAPPEN. Jimmy has also learned about sleeping in his kennel for naps and bedtime. He quickly curls up in his kennel and sleeps like a baby from 10pm until 7am. He is also understands to not potty in his kennel. He is a champ! And they are still learning about being inside a house. The easy part to get use to is always having food and water and nice comfy bed place. The harder things to understand were the weird noises like the coffee grinder, like the beeping of the washer and dryer when the cycle is done, etc. Now, they are all pros at these sounds. But, still not use to when someone knocks at the door. Again, they are all learning and with time, love, and patience and EXPOSING them these things, they will understand and not be so easily startled All of Jimmy's' vetting has been done by my personal dogs' vet. The following is a list of what has been done for Jimmy.NeuteredAll 4 - DA2PP shots (Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2 (Hepatitis), Parvo, and Parainfluenza)Bordatella shotRabies shotDewormedTested, Treated (if needed), and retested for giardia and coccidiaIverhart heartworm preventativeSimparica fleas and ticks preventativeChipped There are two categories of vaccines: “core” vaccines that are recommended for all pets, and “non-core vaccines” which may be recommended by your vet based on lifestyle and exposure risk. The core vaccine for dogs is the Rabies vaccine, which is required by law. The second core vaccine for dogs is often referred to as the DA2PP or DHPP vaccine. This stands for “Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2 (Hepatitis), Parvo, and Parainfluenza”, meaning that this vaccine protects against FOUR different diseases. It is especially important for puppies to begin a series of DA2PP vaccines at six to eight weeks of age, as natural immunity obtained from the mother decreases and puppies become very susceptible to potentially life-threatening diseases such as Canine Parvovirus (Parvo). Parvo is transmitted through feces and can remain in the environment for at least one month, and up to a year if the conditions are right. This means that puppies do not need to be directly exposed to another dog that has Parvo in order to contract the disease, and caution is advised when choosing where and how to socialize and exercise your pup. We recommend avoiding exposure to unknown dogs or public places until your puppy has finished their vaccine series. BUT, all A.M.O.R. puppies (1 year old and less) have all FOUR shots. They are safe to join you and your family on your outdoor adventures and you can rest at ease.Non-core vaccines for dogs include Bordetella, Influenza, Leptospirosis and Lyme. The Bordetella (aka: Kennel Cough) help to prevent highly-contagious respiratory diseases, and are essential for dogs that may be exposed to other dogs, especially in group settings such as dog parks, daycare, or boarding facilities. All A.M.O.R. dogs and puppies are given a Bordatella vaccine. This dewormer is issued per our vet. And all pets are tested, treated (if needed), and retested for coccidia and giardia. A.M.O.R. provides you with this information so that you can be aware of the work and love that is given to each pet. Each puppy has visited the vet AT LEAST 5 times during their stay with us. They have seen the vet 4 times for their shots and will see the vet 1-2 more times prior to transport in order to obtain a health certificate for travel. Adult dogs have seen the vet AT LEAST 3 times. Two visits for their shots and 1-2 visits prior to transport in order to obtain a health certificate. Are you ready to cuddle with sweet Jimmy??
